This is an audio interview I did with Allan Bacon of GenerousNetworking.com. In this interview, Allan discusses why it is ALWAYS better to network into a position than it is to look in classifieds. I happen to agree with Allan. We found all three positions via ads, but when you network in, you are the “baseline” to which any other applicant will be compared to. Plus, when you approach them, they have not come up with a long list of duties that they are trying to find someone to fill – You have the upper hand (the element of surprise).
